DIASPORA [vol.1]
DIASPORA is both an art photographic work and the reflection about the regeneration of a city and its society after crisis. It presents a metaphore of the shared feelings of fear, trauma and disorientation by the inhabitants at Monterrey, México immediatly after the recent drug war, which had led to the self-exile and escape of some of the citizens; As a visual dystopia, DIASPORA evokes the subsequent uncertainty in the post-zeitgeist atmosphera from an encouraging point of view where hope, fight and empowerment are are fully exposed by characters who transcended the limits of the circumstances without giving them a chance to beat them down, but starting instead a new era on their very own selves.
It was also the first project of the auto-sustainable art collective with the same name to introduce the first collection of its vintage clothing store.
